Converge : Wolverine Blues

Salem, Massachusetts hardcore punk veterans Converge are set to release a new album this year, and they have just self-released a split 7″ with  thrash-metal pioneers Napalm Death featuring two tracks recorded during the LP sessions. In addition to a brand new studio version of live staple “No Light Escapes”, Converge have contributed an immense all-star, “We Are The World”-style cover of Entombed’s “Wolverine Blues” (below), featuring guest vocals from Tomas Lindberg (Disfear, At The Gates, Lock Up), Aaron Turner (Isis, Old Man Gloom, Split Cranium), Kevin Baker (APMD, The Hope Conspiracy) and Brian Izzi (Trap Them). Sample all four tracks on the single here.

About foamhands

My name is Michael Dix; I'm a decade or so past being down with the kids, but to me new music never gets old. Apparently I like music that sounds like faulty kitchen appliances and ritual slaughter; really I just like what I like, whether that happens to be indie, pop, punk, hip hop, metal, electronica, Afrobeat or jazz. Follow me on Twitter @FoamHandsBlog to receive notifications of new posts and the occasional random brain-fart, and please share links wherever you can. Enjoy!
