Cold Pumas : Persistent Malaise

Repetition, repetition, repetition: the “three Rs” as taught at the school of Krautrock where, if their debut long-player Persistent Malaise (just released via Faux Discx/ Italian Beach Babes/ Gringo Records) is anything to go by, Brighton trio Cold Pumas are star pupils. With droning basslines, jangling guitars and pounding drums all present and correct, the album will be like catnip for anyone whose record collections include the likes of Sonic Youth, the Velvet Underground, Suicide, No Age and the Fall; listen to “Sherry Island” below, and the whole thing at Faux Discx’ Bandcamp.

About foamhands

My name is Michael Dix; I'm a decade or so past being down with the kids, but to me new music never gets old. Apparently I like music that sounds like faulty kitchen appliances and ritual slaughter; really I just like what I like, whether that happens to be indie, pop, punk, hip hop, metal, electronica, Afrobeat or jazz. Follow me on Twitter @FoamHandsBlog to receive notifications of new posts and the occasional random brain-fart, and please share links wherever you can. Enjoy!
