Coliseum : Sister Faith

Ten years into their career, Kentucky punks Coliseum this week release their fourth long-player Sister Faith via Temporary Residence LTD. Produced by J. Robbins, it’s the first recording to feature new bassist Kayhan Vaziri, and also finds the trio expanding on the more accesible sound they toyed with on 2010’s House With A Curse: the crusty, thrashy hardcore elements of old are – of course – still present in tracks like “Disappear From Sight” and “Everything In Glass”, but now they coexist with muscular groovers like “Black Magic Punks” and the kind of sugar-spiked hard-rock riffage that would make their buds Torche envious; listen to epic closer “Fuzzbang” below.

About foamhands

My name is Michael Dix; I'm a decade or so past being down with the kids, but to me new music never gets old. Apparently I like music that sounds like faulty kitchen appliances and ritual slaughter; really I just like what I like, whether that happens to be indie, pop, punk, hip hop, metal, electronica, Afrobeat or jazz. Follow me on Twitter @FoamHandsBlog to receive notifications of new posts and the occasional random brain-fart, and please share links wherever you can. Enjoy!
