Steve Summers : The Outermaze

New York producer Jason Letkiewicz is a man with about as many identities on the go as Leonardo Dicaprio’s character in Catch Me If You Can: over the past couple years he has released solo or collaborative tracks under the names Malvoeaux, Rhythm Based Lovers, Manhunter, Sensual Beings, Innergaze and Two Dogs In A House, as well as the slightly less exotic pseudonym Alan Hurst. It’s his work as Steve Summers, however, that is providing the biggest thrills, as new EP The Outermaze proves. Recently released on the L.I.E.S. label – currently riding the crest of a wave following their faultless American Noise compilation – the three-tracker explores the grey area between melody and machine-made chaos, drawing from jacking house and techno to come up with endlessly engaging electronic transmissions equally suited to home listening or a club setting. About foamhands

My name is Michael Dix; I'm a decade or so past being down with the kids, but to me new music never gets old. Apparently I like music that sounds like faulty kitchen appliances and ritual slaughter; really I just like what I like, whether that happens to be indie, pop, punk, hip hop, metal, electronica, Afrobeat or jazz. Follow me on Twitter @FoamHandsBlog to receive notifications of new posts and the occasional random brain-fart, and please share links wherever you can. Enjoy!
