Hungry Cloud Darkening: Glossy Recall

From Stereogum:
“Nicholas Wilbur, Allyson Foster, and Paul Benson are three musicians who grew up together in Arkansas before making their way to Anacortes, Washington six years ago. They’ve all been touring members of Mount Eerie, but when not collaborating with Phil Elverum they make music together as Hungry Cloud Darkening. The trio’s second album Glossy Recall is out October 7 via Off Tempo, and the gorgeous chamber-pop number “Blue Green” (below) is our latest preview from the set: steady rumbling bass spurs along celestial acoustic strums while Foster’s gentle whispers share space with eerie atmospherics and elegant French horn. The effect is halfway between Broadcast and Yo La Tengo — just a remarkably pretty grown-up lullaby to soothe your soul.”

My name is Michael Dix; I'm a decade or so past being down with the kids, but to me new music never gets old. Apparently I like music that sounds like faulty kitchen appliances and ritual slaughter; really I just like what I like, whether that happens to be indie, pop, punk, hip hop, metal, electronica, Afrobeat or jazz.
